mounting bushings with o-rings?

as the title says, using rubber o-rings (such as #11 or #10 like used for propellers on RC craft) to mount bushings to help them auto align. I know that the cavity the bushing would go into would need to have a grove to help secure the o-rings in place. Just wondering if anyone has tried this in the past and if it was effective at all.

The purpose of a bushing is to constrain something to move on a shaft. Rubber o-rings will reduce the amount of constraint and do it in unpredictable ways.

the issue though is that with a printed part there is chance of things not being 100% lined up. the use of the o-rings is to help compensate for that. also i made a test peice and it seemed to work smoothly for what i entend to do
