Sorry, missed your question (aparently I wasn't getting the post notifications).
The way I'm developing RepRap X2 is more like the software development. No rebuilding of everything fom scratch, just trying to reuse as much as possible by gradually upgrading. There were entries in the graph for variations of the printers that didn't appear to be different from each other much (i.e. just different part shapes and sizes) that's why the addition of the new features like dual extrusion and the filament drive appeared to be worthy of something like a branch from Prusa's Mendel. If you are tracking the designs that are completely diverged and started living on their own, it isn't probably going to happen to mine, but a few versions ahead it's likely to be very different from its starting point.
I say that's the way true RepRaps should evolve :-)

Nop, it's just in the endless "to-add" list ^^' (look at [reprap.org] )
(or try ctrl+f and "beluga")

Hi Emmanuel,

I just wanted to point out that the Open Hybrid Mendel should probably be located on the branch of the Mixtape and Malthus as opposed to floating out in free space, as it is a mashup of designs which drawn from the sells and prusa mendel, which seems to be what that branch indicates.

Family tree is looking great, btw.

Can't see how to add my open beam mendel OB1 Prism, derived from Buback's Prism with a bit of Mendel Max influence.
Edit: Ok I see it now, thanks whoever did that smiling smiley

It's not showed in the actual picture but I modified that in the upcoming tree (that I hope to finish updating during the winter holidays, maybe).

Do you have an estimation about when the 1.5 version appeared ? smiling smiley

Prism mendel 1.5 publicly appeared at the end of july as a digital prototype, and early september as a fully open source machine.

Thanks !

And the Prism 1.5 already had some child design : Paoparts made one for the same extrusions the foldarap uses, they build 3 during a recent workshop already : [paoparts.com]

But I have no idea if he will publish the design, and when.

Most of my technical comments should be correct, but is THIS one ?
Anyway, as a rule of thumb, always double check what people write.

Just a little update, we have yet to program the famility tree generation from the database of printers, but about the growing database, you are all more than welcome to contribute to it by using this simple google form, each time you see a new printer popping out somewhere smiling smiley

the form : [docs.google.com]

(the database is here : [docs.google.com] )
