I’m happy to share with you that we’ve announced our collaboration with Carbodeon - Finnish nano-diamond manufacturer - on 15th of March (https://www.tctmagazine.com/3d-printing-news/carbodeon-tiamet-3d-nanodiamond-3d-printing-filaments)! Together we aim to supply you with high-performance materials that will enable you to print in high quality on your desktop printer. ... hmmm ... I agree - the higher the amount of nano-diamonds, the better the thermal and bonding properties ... but the more abrasive for the nozzles too !?!

Is it better than the nanotube-loaded filaments?

... coal dust is assembled from graphene and some "natural" buckyballs and nanotubes -- so not that bad neither winking smiley

Nano diamonds will give better thermal conductivity/distribution, graphene or nanotubes will give better bonding/fusing properties ...

I've always heard that particle filled filaments have worse bonding properties which is what makes them more brittle and weaker than the pure plastic.

... depends on mechanical and "physical" properties of the particles - nanotubes can enhance the "linking", glass fibers can reduce it.

Carbon (or nanodiamonds) can "fuse" with the plastic material for Van-der-Waals bonds to the plastic molecules winking smiley

From what I've heard even carbon filled filaments end up weaker. They get stiffer but overall weaker and more brittle.

... "carbon" is a wide range of materials from charcoal-dust, to graphite, graphene, buckyballs, nanotubes and nanodiamonds.

They all can (will) have big differences in behaviour ...

Why is it the first nano/diamond filament? I've already seen some products from nano-diamond filaments. For e.g. you can see it here: nanodiamond thermal grease . Do you have competition or is it something different? BTW I think that the nanoproducts will hit the streets soon.

... nanodiamonds or graphene-/graphite-nanoparticles are not the same as plastic-microparticles!

First - "micro" is much bigger than "nano" ... then the surface of plastic particles will be much more polluted with germs than pure carbon surfaces.

And last - if you burn a fire or some candles, then there will be more than enough "nano-carbon" emitted ... and was done too over the last tenthousands of years spinning smiley sticking its tongue out
