Can you laser print on wood finish pla?

Hi
I am wondering if it is possible to laser engrave 3d printed woodfill PLA?
I want to print small flat plaques with something like woodfill which is 80% wood/20% pla and then laser mark
text on it. I am wondering if anyone has tried it and what sort of laser power you would need.
The cheap chinese laser engravers come in 1000, 1500, 2500mW.

... depends on the plastic colour - the more dark, the better.

Or use a CO2-laser ...

... the 10640nm of the CO2-laser will engrave or cut any plastic, while the 445nm of the blue diode lasers, used in the chinese 2500mW-engravers, are material- and colour-"sensitive".

Search for CO2-lasercutters -- 40Watt types are available for cheap ... but will need some "optimizing" to get working reliable ...

I think I will just use metal plates and an engraver. probably better and less hassle!
