Backlash on Z lead screw?

Backlash on Z lead screw?

I'm still working on my old CTC Replicator clone and today I checked the Z axis for backlash.

Holding the lead screw I can lift the brass nut a noticeable distance relative to the screw, probably less than 1mm but enough to feel.

I'm all other respects the Z axis seems solid.

With the weight of the heated bed bearing down it is this going to be an issue during printing, I'm thinking particularly of Z hops or lifts?

If I need to I can get and fit an anti backlash nut but it looks to be an awkward job so if there is no or little benefit I'll take the easy way out and leave it alone!

Thanks All.

Nothing is going to lift it while it's printing. It should be OK without an antibacklash nut.

Great stripping the printer would be nasty.
