Rescaling multi objects at once
October 23, 2018 09:41AM
So I had a prusa knock off an it just has issues.. so for giggles I got a M3d micro just to play with.. and the kids
to play with.. it works.. its slow.. and has small bed..

so trying to print some toy gun for them.. too bad its not going to fit a full size..
so is there any program that you can give it multi objects and it can see which needs
to be scaled down the most and applies scale and then does the same scale to
all the other objects ?

if there is no easy program to do that.. whats the best program for rescaling..

I think I have Cura loaded.. and I think I have Solid Works access..

any ideas ?

In Cura/preferences you can check the box 'Scale big parts', but IDK if it tells you the true scale ratio. It maybe shows 83% scale, where it really was 82.6789%

It is safer to manually scale down the parts with the same ratio to make them fit together afterwards.

If you have assembly in solidworks you can

1. Save assembly as part
2. Use Insert -> Features -> Scale and select all bodies (parts)
3. Go to Feature tree -> Solid Bodies -> right click on body and Insert into New Part
4. Save all parts this way and that's it.

Maybe it's not the best solution if you have a lot of parts, but it works!
