December 29, 2018 01:14PM
Hello,

(ramps 1.4, marlin)
can someone help me i can't seem to get current at D8 D9 or D10

i've checkt the fuse's and there ok.
at the mosfet's i'm getting 12v at the middle pin and 0v at 1th and 3th pin. (see pic)

could it be a configuration in marlin?

thanks.

The mosfets switch in the gnd, the 12v comes from the D8, D9 and D10 + pins and is always on. (As long as power is applied to the two power inputs the 5amp and 11amp circuit. D8 is connected to the 11 amp side, and D9 and D10 is connected to the 5amp side)

the middle pin is the mosfet output and is on when at 0v

So always measure voltage at the D plugs for these mosfets.

As long as you have the motherboard set to a Ramps in your firmware configuration.h the pins are correct and that is the only thing needed software wise.

NB there are safety interlocks... If the controller cant read the temperature it wont turn on the heater...

Also there is a complete sub forum for ramps!! please use it.

Re: ramps1.4 replacement board

I am having trouble finding A replacement for this board pictured in the first photo? It is part of the PRUSA i3 kit I built a couple years ago. I need a replacement as one of the contacts melted; that supplies power to the nozzle heater. You can see the upper right screw terminal damage.

More than likely, the mofset that controls current has burned out and the printer no longer works. I’m seeking a replacement on eBay and cannot find a similar looking board. Can anybody help? The 2nd photo is the board I thought was a replacement. While it doesn’t look the same, maybe you can tell me dear reader, if what was sent can still be used or can you recommend a seller with the correct part? TIA

Peter

Hello

This is a
MKS Gen_L v1.0

And a quick search from E-Bay.

shows them around 17 bucks and up from china
shows them in U.S.A. starting for 20 bucks up

I would purchase from most any in the 99+ percent area.

The first board is a MKS BASE 1.4
The second is a MKS Gen_L v1.0

The MKS BASE 1.5 (available everywhere) is compatible with the MKS BASE 1.4

The question about the MKS should be its own thread... However,

The second board will work, but you'll have to get a set of stepper drivers as well, of course. It may be possible to repair the first board by desoldering the burnt screw terminal connector and either soldering in a replacement screw terminal or soldering the heater wires directly to the board. After removing the burnt terminal, apply power and test the contacts with a multimeter--if you read 12v (high) while the heater is not set to be on, then the MOSFET has failed, else the board should be good still.

I’ll check with a VOM for 12V. Good suggestions!
