Sick inductive sensors for Cartesian 3d printer

Hi,
What would the advantages of buying a SICK inductive sensor rather than nock offs, would they be any better in terms of repeatability, accuracy or would they be a waist of time. I.e. one of these:

What would the best sensor be for G29/G32... accuracy/repeatability etc please don't include bltouch

Would buying a dedicated power supply improve anything about these 10v-36v sensors in general...

Also would a 12/18mm sensor be better than a 8mm sensor...

Kind Regards

... this all depends mostly on bed design ... and yes, "knock-offs" compared to "professional" sensors are often disadvantageous eye rolling smiley

It's a standard 24v aluminium heated bed on a Y carriage.

Would bed leveling become anymore accurate?
Would a 12mm sensor be better than a 8mm sensor?

... a thin iron sheet above the aluminium would enhance the accuracy.

A sensor with 12mm is normally more sensitive than with 8mm - but depends on the driver/sensing electronics too -- have some 12mm sensors from Omron with external electronics, which can detect a conducting surface in 2mm distance with an accuracy below 1 micron winking smiley

Maybe better than inductive could be an optical sensor -- have (trinagulating) laser-sensors with different measuring ranges from 30mm with 2 micron accuracy to 300mm with then 0.5mm accuracy ... but much better "repeatability" than inductive ones ...

I have a duet and would likely connect the 12mm sensor to a octocoupler...

How much better would an iron sheet be compared to cast aluminium sheet

... with iron it's a much "sharper" transition, so more accurate ... don't know the exact numbers ...
