Additional endstop and axis in Marlin
October 02, 2019 01:57AM
Hi,

I am using Marlin 1.1.9 and an Arduino Mega 2560 with the RAMPS 1.4. Now I want to include one more endstop for a additional axis. So I have four seperate axis.
The RAMPS have six Endstop plugs: X_min, X_max, Y_min, Y_max, Z_min, Z_max.
X_min, Y_min and Z_min are is use for the normal axis X, Y and Z.

Now to the question: Is ist possible to use for example the free X_max plug for the additional axis? What do I have to change in Marlin that it works?
No dual-endstops for one axis, fully independet.

Thanks for your help.

greetings
Beavis

Marlin is a 3 axis engine. It will be more difficult to change it into 4 or 5 axes. You may want to look at RepRap firmware instead.

Hm okay,

but the RAMPS with Arduino Mega ist not compatible with the RepRap Firmware I think.
Only a Duet or Duet Board 2...

RRF may work best on Duets, but it has been ported to most 32-bit controllers.
