Can I make holes into silicone heating pad?

Hello,

I want to order some 220V silicone heating pad from china. The size is correct, but they dont have holes. It is possible to make holes with my drilling machine or will it destroy it?

Its a blob of silicon with a resistance wire over the entire surface.

If you drill into it you will most likely drill through the wire and destroy it.

also 220v! you don't want any hardware touching the wire either.

If:-

You have many years of experience.
You can deduce from available clues as to where the dangerous (live) parts are.
You have learned from many mistakes and lots of damaged equipment in the past.
You are sure that you have overlooked nothing (like water getting through the drilled holes).
You have prayed really really hard to the right God at a time that you believe him (her) to be listening.
There is an Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker in the supply and somebody with an insulated rope to pull you away from the source of electrocution.

Then go ahead. As somebody said recently "what have you got to lose"

If you ocntact Keenovo and tell them where you need the holes they may make one for you for a small additional charge over the standard product.

a hole punch should work well smiling smiley

just make sure you unplug it first. also, cut the electric connections off, otherwise you'll likely start a fire or get electrocuted.

Standard 1" paper clip for scale, Keenovo 110v bed heater. (I run an industrial live x-ray unit)
