Ive had this idea for a long time but havent built it to test yet. Mainly because im not sure there is a way to get firmware to control the motors and im not 100% sure the kinematics work out.
Before i spend a lot of time trying this can anyone tell me if there is a way to get firmware to make this work? It would be similar to coreXY or something but not the same.
To move in Y only both motors would have to move. To move in X only the X motor would move. An angled move in one direction would require the Y motor to move only and in the other direction would require both motors to move.

Maybe this has been tried before but i havent found anything on it. Or maybe im just crazy.

MARKFORGED_XY is supported in marlin.

This and every other kinematics for which the motion of each axis is a linear combination of the movement of the motors is supported in RepRapFirmware. You can generalise it to multiple X and Y axes too.
