can ramps fries drivers and vice versa ?

I am really going crazy about what is going on, I need your help

- new ramps 1.6 + mega + a4988 (only one motor connected to one driver , nothing else is connected ) = motor not moving, stuttering, buzzing, tried everything, motor coils connection is correct, test code, vref, jumpers, end-stops, changed motors, changing to x,y,z, new cables, same result
so
new ramps 1.4 +new mega + a4988 = same thing as above, ok the driver is the problem then, (motor moves with test code but very badly, seems random movement )
ok time for a new driver installed but hell no!, same result as before.!!

ok I get a new driver again from working printer, install, same result
put it back to the printer I took it from = not working printer, so driver is gone

so what is going on, can the first setup destroyed the driver, then the same driver destroyed the second setup ??

If the Stepper motors are incorrectly wired then the answer is yes and this can happen very quickly.

Post your wiring diagram.

A4988 come with a little current adjuster. It's usually set to minimal, has to be turned up if the motor is under load.

What can fry drivers is plugging them in the wrong way around.
