Marlin 2.x won't build

Having some major problems with Marlin firmware (bed leveling is causing the hotend to crash into the bed) so as a last resort I'm trying the latest firmware. Except...it doesn't build.

I've tried arduino versions 1.8.5, 1.8.15, 2.0 beta.

I've tried Marlin 2.0.9.1 (latest) and Marlin 2.0.9.

Same error in all 6 permutations:

"assignment of read-only variable 'MarlinUI::lcd_clicked'"

Is anyone actually able to build Marlin 2.x ?

I don't know about the compilation error (sounds like config.h or config_h.adv issue) but that sort of behaviour points at the sensor for levelling not being detected properly.

Could be a dead sensor, could be plugged into wrong place on the board. What you using? I tried a couple of those cheap piezo-electric pad jobbies, they won't trigger without an extra board to amplify the effect.

Yeah, could be. Hard to tell.

I had it as 2 different display types selected as present on the same printer causing the error, which points to config.h having errors in it
