hot smiley Get a PhD for doing RepRap Research
August 24, 2021 01:21PM
Hi Everyone - I just joined Western University in Canada -a top 1% global university and started the Free Appropriate Sustainable Technology (FAST) research group. We are interested in exploring the ways RepRap 3-D printing can drive distributed recycling and additive manufacturing (DRAM) (and maybe even social change). Every thing we do will be open source - and we are looking to do a lot of high-end RepRap development and application research.

I have several fully funded PhD lines available now/starting in the near future. If you are interested please follow these directions to apply. Top students interested in a MSc will also be considered. You can get a feel for my group's past work here.

Ideal candidates would have experience building and trouble shooting RepRaps as well as design in FreeCAD or OpenSCAD. All engineering disciplines are welcome.

Thanks
Dr. Pearce

Why didn't you offer these PhDs 55 years ago? O.K., I guess there were no 3D printers, no internet and I guess you probably weren't even born.

What's fully funded in terms of monthly stipend? Enough to live on comfortably?

Yes it covers all tuition + a standard RA stipend -- you will not get rich - but you will comfortable.

Earth Day 2016: Why George W. Bush gives me hope for the future of the planet

Oh Dear....he's the one who wanted to finish his dad's dirty work....which turned out 'great' for the rest of us, as the twin towers fell & the bubble popped and the debt's & losses where forced on everyone else.
