How to add a sdcard reader to a btt octopus pro?
July 16, 2024 04:05AM
I noticed that the new btt tft35/50/70 displays don't have a sdcard slot anymore. I have four printers that all use an octopus and a older tft35 with a sdcard slot. This is how I was running my printers.

I'm pretty sure the micro sdcard slot on the octopus can be used, but I don't want to do that because my control boards are behind my printers and are hard to access.

How do I add an extended sdcard reader to the control board so I can access it from the front of my machines?

I'm planning on building two more machines. From the quick search I did, it seems that there's still no easy way to send unique gcode to multiple printers without having to do some elaborate setup/ run several instances of octoprint. This blows my mind considering that 3d printers have been around for awhile now.

Thanks

They have still have sdcard slots...

BTT tfts are small computers witch touch screen, they use the sdcard for gcode and for updating their own firmware.

I was looking at the raspi tft's. That's why they don't have sccard slots. The dual mode tfts have scard slots, but those all have the rotary dial which I don't really want. I just wanted a 5inch touch screen with no dial and a sdcard slot.
