How to replace X-axis timing belt on Elegoo Neptune 3 Pro (Cartesian i3)?

Hi everyone,

I'm a beginner and this is my first time replacing a timing belt. I have no prior experience.

I'm upgrading the extruder on my Elegoo Neptune 3 Pro (Cartesian i3). The new extruder mount conflicts with the original golden belt retention clip, which I can't figure out how to remove. So I've decided to replace the X-axis GT2 belt entirely.

So far, I've only removed the extruder assembly. But I have no idea how to remove the old belt, route the new one, or set tension.

Could anyone point me to a beginner-friendly step-by-step guide? Specifically:

1. What parts do I need to disassemble to access the belt?
2. What's the correct routing path around the idler pulley and stepper motor pulley?
3. How do I judge belt tension without a gauge?
4. What are common beginner mistakes to avoid?

I have uploaded photos of my current setup.

Thanks in advance for any guidance!

Update: Managed to replace it using the official Elegoo guide. For anyone with the same issue: [www.bilibili.com]. Belt tension feels good when it makes a low "twang" sound when plucked.
