What are you doing with your failed/test builds plastic?

What are you doing with your failed/test builds plastic?

Dear all,

After about 40 days of plastic melting & extruding bliss, I've got a nice box of good pieces & toys, a completed Prusa Mendel, and a bag of tests/calibration/failed/experimental pieces & blobs, most of them PLA.

I'm wondering what to do with them, maybe prepare a mold and put 'em in an oven?
Yes, there have been a couple of "test cities" on display in Thingiverse.

So I am curious what creative uses have you found for your test builds?

I keep them in a bag for when we will have a recycle bot to make new filament or for the promise of a granulate extruder smiling smiley

Some of them get dissolved in acetone to make plastic 'glue'

Some of the larger pieces get saved to be modified as odds and ends in future projects (never know what you will need)

Everything else gets recycled.

I've got a box full of failed and/or broken parts. Lately the pile hasn't been growing much as I get better at the whole RepRap thing.

@All:
Thx for the inputs!
So it would seem there's quite some bags o'plastic in the wait.
Re-melting at some point in the future is in the prospects.
Anyone tried microwaving?

@Andrew Diehl: "Everything else gets recycled": is this through some dispositive of yours, or by using "municipal" recycling services and similar?
(here they said external services tend to put all of the plastics excepted PVC & PET bottles in a single big crushing bin and send 'em to generate calories, that is, the burner...)

Municipalities get em. Can't be any worse than ending up in a land fill.

Microwaving shouldn't do anything without some type of dopant or microwave absorber.
