Approximate cost

Hi

I found this project off a slashdot article. I'd be interested to put this together but am wondering about how much it would cost ($$ and hours) to assemble.

Even an approximate ballpark would be great.

thanks

To make a reprap today is probably around 1,500$. Once we achieve practical replication and can produce the majority of the parts ourselves, the price will probably go down to 400$. The biggest hurdle is labor, because building a reprap today requires skills in many fields, and what you don't know you do slow. An old thread on costs is at:
[forums.reprap.org]

By the way, where in Vancouver do you live?

Cheers,
Enrique

I'll try to keep track of the cost as I go. So far I'm about $200 in and I have only the elecronics minus the stepper motors
