I wonder if somebody noticed that RepRap a project with the spirit of GNU and Copyleft is run on a Java Binary from Sun, i guess is posible also run it on a free implementation of java, but also i'm curios if there is a chance to compile using the OpenJDK development kit

I'm planning give a try, but in advance to that i decide post it here first, if someboy already try it

best regards

It has worked under OpenJDK for a while now at least on linux, and as most of the development is done under Eclipse it has been build using ecj and works - so it should work with the openjdk compiler as well.

I have not checked it out with any of the openjdk-7 builds (the openjdk version will be the sun version for 7) but I see no reason why it should not work.
