Does The Host Program Require Kubuntu?
December 08, 2008 06:14PM
Hi, I got my live DVD working (see my other thread). Now I have another question related to the host program. When I boot to the disk all I get is a kubuntu screen with options to install and such. I already have the most recent version of Ubuntu installed as a dual boot on my computer using wubi. Should I uninstall the current version and install Kubuntu? And if I do, will it make the live CD install the RepRap software? Thank you

wait what?
You should have an option for "run Live DVD Mode" or ""test kubuntu" or something similar
(cannot remember what it's called atm)
that option will just run kubuntu without installing anything.

That's what you are looking for.

And no, you can of course install the reprap host to your current linux installation too.
Just follow the hints
[www.reprap.org]

If it's a host test you're after;
you can run the reprap host from windows as well;
maybe even my standalone version (I'd love to know if it runs on vista)
