I've been totally baffled for a while about which java version I needed - is 1.5 the same as 5? the java archives have the following JRE type files:
JDK/JRE - 6
JDK/JRE - 5.0
J2SDK/J2RE - 1.4
J2SDK - 1.3
J2RE - 1.3
J2SDK - 1.2
J2RE - 1.2

Only the top two of that list are of any use to you. Sometimes 5 is referred to as 1.5.
