STL files not rendering properly

Hi folks

Im trying to test my RepStrap (CopperRap) by replacing the extruder with a pen and getting it to draw some pretty pictures.

Ive attached two files, a sketchup file of a circle with one quadrant removed. Its 5mm in diameter and 0.2mm in thickness. It "sits" on the xy plane, ie z=0

Ive used the Ruby script to export an .stl file, which I have also attached.

If I reimport the "pacman" file, it renders OK in Sketchup, displaying as a triangulated version of the original.

The problem comes when I import the file into the Repman Host software. I can see that the "pacman" shape is there, albeit at a higher level than I expected, but there are also lots of triangles in completely the wrong place.

Is there a problem with the Ruby script, or the RepMan Host, or something I have done?
