Controller Software

Can I ask what people are using for their controller software for the printer?

Any pros/cons with respect to the different controllers?

Just to be clear I don't mean the firmware but rather the Host software.

IM using repsnapper to control my ramps PCB running the sprinter software.

but Kliment on the IRC channel has been developing a new host software which is getting some good feedback.

Also im using Skeinforge .41 for generating my gcode.

Skeinforge here, I've had too many problems with the RepRap software.

For printer control I'm using my own software which isn't compatible with any of the standard electronics.

I'm a bit confused as to the methodology to print. As I understand it, the CAD/CAM toolchain goes like this:

All you need to know is

Openscad/RAMPS/Pronterface/Skeinforge/Sprinter/Prusa

Openscad to desgin your files and save as STL

Pronterface/Skeinforge is the host and gcoder converter, Let me explain, if you use Pronterface and have Skeinforge installed in the Pronterface root dir you can load your STL via Pronterface and they will be converted and loaded ready for you to press print.

RAMPS is the best electrinlics for your printer.

Sprinter is the firmware you use on RAMPS or some others.

These is one printer to have and thats a PRUSA.
