Prusa problems with Gen6 board
August 05, 2011 06:25PM
Hi guys, please forgive me for the n00bish questions, but I am a very large n00b.

I have finished constructing my prusa and connected everything to the Gen6 batch 4 board I bought from mendel-parts.com. I have spliced the two z-motors together by cutting the connector off one of them and soldering the wires to the wires of the same color on the other motor which is plugged into the board on the Z output. I dont know if this is causing any problems.

When I turn on the power, the X and Y motors will lock up, so I know they are getting power. The two Z-motors and the extruder motor do not lock.

When I plug it into the computer, Windows 7, the OS is not able to load the drivers for the Gen6 board. It says unknown device and lists some USB UART ft232r usb uart or something like that, but no recognition.

If you guys have any ideas, please let me know. Thanks!

Did you download and install the Gen6 drivers from Mendel parts?
