Novice question about freeduino

Hi, (sorry for my english) I've not idea about electronics, the only board that I can aquire in my country is a usb freeduino, is this the same that Arduino?

Hi eNano,

Wow the freeduino is expensive.
check [store.rrrf.org] I'm pretty sure, that Zach will ship to Argentina as well. (as soon as he is back from his vacation)

the arduino diecimila is $35
but I think the sanguino is the better way to go $25
(you need the ttl cable for $20) so thats $45

And you can buy the complete electronics kit there too
so make sure you've take a close look to the complete store.

i think thats Argentina peso which is something like a third of a US dollar.. so about ~40 us bucks.. right?

It says "Arduino Diecimila compatible" but the picture shows a board with a serial port instead of a USB port.

I think the Freeduino is compatible, the picture of the NKC kit has the USB showing.

There's serial versions of Arduino around though.

thanks a lot for the answers. The dealer have a version with usb and like corndog says the price is lower than us dollars
is this usb version board useful?

yes, the freeduino is compatible.

the serial version will work fine if you have a real serial port. the USB versions simply have a usb -> serial converter onboard.
