Gen 7 board, AVR 1.5 board, steppers not turning/working

Hello,

I just had an issue with the MCP 2200 which got resolved(needed to update Win XP sp2 to Win XP sp3). I can upload firmware and monitor everything well.

The issue i have is following: after plugging in the USB cable and turning on the PSU, I open pronterface/repetier host. I open an test .STL and slice it. After slicing it, I ask the printer to start running the job.

While trying to start, I can see all the lights blink, but none of the motors are moving. In repetier I can also see that the code is being sent, yet motors are not turning.

My configuration is the same with my other 2 printers( Gen 7/ 1.5 board, poloulu 4498 steppers, corsair ATX powersupply, repetier 0.83 firmware), but for some reason I cannot get the motors to move or make a sound.

I also tried moving the motors in "dry run" mode, but that did not make it work either.

Does anybody have any ideas on what could be causing this issue?

Thanks for the help!

To put it simply, none of your motors run no matter how you try to run them. Is that correct?

Does your hot end / heated bed heat up properly?

Is this a printer that was working up and working?

Assuming the hot end and heated bed work, none of the motors work at all, and the printer once worded - first check would be to make sure the firmware reflects the hardware. Put another way - does configuration.h have all the proper stuff for your board.

EDIT:

it turns out that I'm and idiot - what happened is that I accidentally unhooked the +12v and +5v molex pins extender thus cutting power to the steppers themselves. After reattaching it, the steppers sprang into life.

Ok, so here's a story -

Needless to say I've had a lot of experience with computer plugged in, all the lights are on, why isn't is stepping ... what's broke now .... ahhhh .. need to plug in the +12 supply. Turns out that the "big boy" printers work the same way. (Almost as if they had open source hardware in them ... hmmmm ...). Here we all are at work. It's a demo of a kilobuck commercial printer. Lights are on, printer is live. All ready to go. It's not stepping .... what's broken .... yup, the +12 aux supply plug fell out of the back. You don't know just how much fun it was to be the one who spotted that ....
