I modified the motherboard, by using a wire from the 5VSB on the ICSP to the VCC pin on the header connector.
I alo made up a cable as the pinout of the BlueSMiRF is a little different to the Arduino.
Once it was all hooked up, it worked perfectly.
Definitely a mode of communication for anyone to consider for distances further than 2m.
I have not tested the comms yet with a steppers attached.
