ReplicatorG/RepRap Motherboard (MakerBot) Tubing Cutter

Hi Guys,

I am trying to modify the MakerBot RepRap electronics to operate a tubing cutter. I have the MakerBot v1.2 RepRap motherboard and I am planning to copy my G-Code directly into replicatorG. All my G-Code is only the X, A (rotation about X) axes.

I am having trouble getting replicatorG/motherboard to interpret the G-Code. What parts of the system do I need to modify? And where can I find information about the modifications? I have inspected both the replicatorG source code and the motherboard firmware code.

Thanks,
-Evan G.

Hi

It might be easier to use Y axis as the rotary and modify your g code to suit.

Another suggestion is to use EMC2 as the controller if you are using Linux.

RepG does the g-code interpretation so if you want to use different g-codes you will need to modify that. Or you could just change the A values to Y and then you could move two motors without any software changes.

Thanks. I will try that and it will probably work.

If at all possible, I would like to keep the G-Code in X-A to simplify the process for other people using the machine.
