Hi

I am looking for information about connecting a lcd & SD control board like this : [www.ebay.com]
to a a Azteeg X1 3DP.

I imagine that we can use ext pin and uSD pin as attached :

Thanks in advance for your help.

That control board may have a 644p, that’s in sufficient for a glcd, basic marlin firmware with glcd and sd enabled is uses 100,448 bytes

because this is a dot matrix ie 128 x 64 pixels, all fonts, graphics and the code to drive it has to be in the control board firmware.

I am not sure to understand.
You speak about required memory. There is enough memory, isn't it ?

that board can have either 644p cpu or 1284p cpu the difference is 64Kbyte or 128Kbyte of Flash program memory

64Kbyte is to small to hold the needed 100+Kbyte firmware

Take a close look at the main chip on your board, it will have a number on it. 1284p or 644p

Ok thanks for the explanation.
I took a picture :

I can not sew this number!

The number is on the top chip, 1284P.

So no we know the firmware can fit... so that is the first question answered

Many many other questions.. remain

Next is how many i/o pins does the glcd need and are there enough on the available connectors...
(Ive seen this around but cant find it quickly, but the board looks like iy used standard reprap connectors )

from [3dprintingdatabase.org]
and [files.panucatt.com]

we see that exp1 and exp2 and sd ramps connectors are well documented.

Also have you ever compiled your own firmware? as you going to need to after defining the required pins for the glcd.

just joining in with the reprap discount glcd ad the X5GT...is it really that hard to find what pin/line from the Display corresponds to which pin on the Controllerboard?
I find stuff like

[chibidibidiwah.wdfiles.com]

but still no clue where anything besides the killswitch and the power suply is going
