I am also working on that...
Since this morning I fighting against Repetier Host. It does not want to go below Z = 0
I have tried everything, also did what is described here [

]
I am using latest version of both Repetier Host and firmware.

The problem it's repetier firmware, you need to change some options in order to go below z = 0, it's a security, because of course in a 3D printer you are not going to go below z = 0

I guess, they've figured it out by now

Just saw a few vids about
hexagon LinuxCNC routers
.
dc42, if you read this, can it be done with a Duet-board too? Each rod is a separate stepper.
