I am building a cnc / 3d printer hybrid,

I have copied this one,
when i move the y axis forward through the manual controls of repetier it moves, but when i try move the y axis back, then the z axis moves?
i read some where the firmware i am using might be to old for the new board? if so where do i get the new firmware?
