I recently posted this at
linkedin but wanted to share a short with reprap lovers.
Step 1. Get a laser cutter.
Step 2. Choose an image to cut.
Step 3. Choose the material to cut the image onto.
Step 4. Set a cutting line.
Step 5. Set the cutting speed, depth and PPI.
Step 6. Make sure the lens is clean.
Step 7. Turn on the power.
