I thank you for the info concerning the lasers.
So I make an error in my choice of diode, even as we age we do tend to make them, I suspect you have made your share.
The safety bit I will ignore, I have been around a long time I have learnt a few things, having built Electronic Gap flashes with capacitors that hold 45k voltage, in fact 3 of them, I am still around.,
Yes I do own the glasses.
I just realized I have and old 0 .5 watt laser that I used to use to trigger my camera for high speed photography, I may have a look at opening it up to see how much of a problem it will be.

Its easy to remove the internal driver without damaging diode

Just turn brass part out it will shear wires of the diode (Diode pins much stronger then wires connected to it)

Then all you have to do it is remove driver from heat sink (Loads white gunk inside)

Then solder new wires back and connect your cheap Chinese TTL module set current set voltage done

This is complete guide how to set it all

rastaman46, Thanks Mate for the info, much appreciated, makes me feel a bit more confident to tackle it.
Have a good one.
Can you send me a link for the driver you used.

Hi,
I have here one of those Geetec all in one boards sitting here, never been used, how well will this work with this settup.
I have bit the bullet and pulled the laser apart, manage to get the thing apart in tack with wire and driver in one piece, have the TTL driver on order, so hopefully will be able to put some of the suggestions here into opperation.
Thanks to all for the info and suggestions. Cheers Ernie

All you need is PWM signal to TTL Driver board

Thanks for that Mate.
Here is a link to the driver I am looking at, It looks to be the one mentioned in the link you gave earlier
So I just connect PWM to TTL modulation..

yes
All you need is connect PWM to TTL

That's the one

But before you connect Diode to this board make sure your voltage & Amperes is set to suite Diode

Thanks Mate, really appreciate the info.
Not much I can do now until the board arrives, probably a couple of weeks away.
Gives me a chance to do some upgrades to the machine, like adding a Z axis.
Let you know how it works out.
