windows printer driver

Hi, I built my own laser engraver using a RAMP controller board with Marlin firmware and currently I am using laserweb for all my laser cutting and engraving projects.

On YouTube I found however some tutorials whereby people are printing directly from CorelDraw to a printer (appearing in the windows Printers &Scanner list). Various colours then perform different actions (e.g. black is raster engraving, blue is vector engraving, red is cutting). This seems a much easier way to control my machine.

I need however a windows printer driver for my marlin based printer. I have searched high and low on google (maybe I am using the word search criteria) but I couldn't find such a driver. Does anybody know if it exists?

Thanks in advance for any help / hints in the right direction.

Nope. that is with Microsoft Standard Driver for 3D Printers. Which requires special USB device implementations

Since reprap uses standard usb/serial driver, can't use that.

Just MS screwing over the little guy, yet again.

... I'm programming macros or external tools for starting laser- or CNC-machines directly from inside of the CAD/CAM-programs like CorelDraw, eSign or gieCAPS.

The Programs will export HPGL- or DXF-files (omplete or only selected objects) into a specific folder ... then eventually write additional information like position, speeds or power setting into a config-file (or there are specific settings inside the "driver") ... then the laser/CNC-application starts with preloaded file and settings, waiting on the "start"-button (but could too start automatically).

I have been using a plugin for Corel Draw with a Vinyl Cutter for years which allows me to directly dump the data image to cut directly to the Cutter Program WinPlot .

Would like to know more about your youtube videos, plugin ect... it could be used for my Vinyl cutting benefit.
I am currently using WinPlot with Corel Draw 12 - Corel Draw X4 thru "Summa Cutter Tools.exe"

As I see it there is not much difference between Engraving and Vinyl cutting, it may work.

Post information you know will try this side to see what can be done. I have a MPCNC cutter that could be used for testing purposes.

... for CorelDraw I've scripted a macro, which simply exports selected objects into a file and starts an external program, which on its own imports the previously exported file ... so most "intelligence" is in the external program.

Some samples with "reimporting" HPGL files into one of this "external programs" can be seen in my YT-video-list - [www.youtube.com]

This was made with "gieCAPS" -- a heavy modified Pronterface-variant (a 3D-printig program), I've expanded with file-I/O-converters and tools for pastedispensing and lasercutting ...
