I received the drive belt from the RRRF; I though it was odd as all the pictures show white belt this belt is black. So before making the gears using CAPA, as described by Joost van de Wiel in his post July 03, 2007 06:47AM.
I did a few calculations based on the XML Belt that seems to have 2.032 pitch not 2.5mm pitch thus:-
50-(0.64 * 2) * 3.14159265/ 2.032 = 75.32 (75) teeth.
14-(0.64 * 2) * 3.14159265 / 2.032 = 19.65 (20) teeth.
The original post by Joost did not indicate which belt was used.
Questions
Has any one else used the RRRF belt?
What was the diameter / number of teeth for each gear used?
If as above how can the difference of 0.468 mm per tooth be compensated for?
Was the belt originaly 2.032mm pitch with a recent design change to 2.5mm pitch?
Many thanks
