Cable Length for Z Axis Steepers

Hi all,

Firstly sorry if this has already been asked.

I am wondering if I can use different length cables for my Z axis steppers, NEMA 17s if that makes any difference. This is coming from me upgrading from an acrylic frame to a p3steel and thought whilst in the process of building I may as well make my cable runs as tidy as possible whilst still being practical.

It won't make any difference, as long as there isn't a HUGE difference between the two. By huge, I mean one being several yards/metres longer than the other.

Thanks David, that is what I was hoping for.

I expect one cable to become approximately 6 inches and the other to be probably 18 at most. My biggest concern is the fact that this will result in one being approx 3 times longer than the other. I was thinking that at these lengths there would not be enough difference to make any real effect but wanted to get some opinions from people who know better than I do.
