Hi everyone,

In order to improve the precision of Z axis, I am going to customize the threaded rod and nut with CNC machine of course. Please give me some advise about anything, such as material, hardness and precision grade, etc. or better by using leadscrew for higher precision and minimum backlash.

I know that you can get lead screws pretty cheap on eBay, have seen good results with them too

Store bought threaded rod is made of very soft metal, though this is designed to make them bind, so I guess a harder steel would be favorable to avoid threads wearing, or binding
