Extruders compatibility
May 03, 2016 05:02PM
Hi,

The place where I work recently purchased a CreatBot DE printer, this one:

We currently want to change the extruders because all of the three hot ends get blocked during the prints, but we are no sure about the hot ends compatibility... We have the three extruders model, pretty similar to this one:

Can anyone please tell me how can I know if the aftermarket Hot ends are compatible with these ones?

Oops car doesn't move ---- replace the engine???

Creatbot doesn't have support?
Are three extruders necessary?

Appears to be a bowden type extruder where the push mechanism (extruder) is far from
the hot end melting the polymer

What filament in use ABS, PLA other?

What makes you think that new extruders / hotends are NOT going to block?

Change extruder mechanism and / or hotend?

Perhaps some testing on why / where they are getting blocked?
Is temperature true? Measure with external probe and compare to what printer reports.

Have you attempted a change of nozzles? A change in nozzle size?

Hi, I have a creatbot dx plus and have replaced the hot ends with e3d v5s.

It works really well very reliable. Drawback is you lose a bit of print height probably 30mm.

If your interested I can give you a write up of the mods required, it's not a direct replacement but not to hard.

Use the model with the Bowden thread to screw into the creatbot adjusting screws.

Can you give me tips to adapt to the hotend E3D on my CreatBot DX3 3d Printer?
Thanks.

I'll try this modification. Now he's trying to make the original HotEnd somehow.
By changing the ventilation of HotEnd I got some improvement.
Thanks.
