Where to get something like this ?

Where to get something like this ?
September 04, 2018 10:28AM
Hi to all.
Am building one vacuum based nozzle.
The pump that am planning to use has enough power to pick up requested object but i dont know
what would be the best way to construct nozzle.

This is a picture of one commercial used solution but i can not figured out if this nozzle is separately
controlled or not ( up / down movement ).

And the video:

Any ideas what would be the best way to "copy" such design ?

Interesting machine. These are real fun to watch.
If you look the suction cup is some kind of short rubber bellow to conform to the shape and various inclination.

Very interesting machine :-)

Am just interested in movement of suction cup.
Is this cup moved separately or is whole head / extruder moved up/down ?

Just use a piece of surgical tubing on the end
of your vacuum pipe.

Use your positioning mechanism to smash it down
on part to pick up and turn on the suck

Just use a piece of surgical tubing on the end of your vacuum pipe.
** It's not that simple. End has to have bigger diameter because suction will not work ( tested on bunch of examples ).
Object has no flat surface.

to smash it down on part to pick up and turn on the suck
** this could be another problem because, what will happen with robot position after "extruder" hits on something ?.
Will it not loose correct position / movement ?.

That's why i was thinking that they are moving just the end "suction" cup...

ABB
*** i saw this video. This is really something :-). It looks he moves whole head down, nut just suction part.

Vacuum pump:
- what do you think guys, what kind of vacuum pump is used to pick up this kind of material ( pressed plastic bottles etc. )
- i was thinking on 600 - 1000W with additional vacuum container ?

... here some links to vacuum grippers for "uneven" or flexing surfaces:

Have seen other systems with grids of many small "suckers" too ...
