Anybody know anyhing about this motion system?

I was looking around on some discord servers and stumbled uppon this, wanted to know if anyone had used this in a printer or similar?

... there are a bunch of different XY-mechanics with combined or separate moving axes - for example, look into "h-bot" or similar ...

I know, i was wondering if anyone knew where this specific one came from, i remember seeing it on this forums a while back but cant for the life of me find the thread.

... hmmm this specific one could even be mentioneb by me some +10 years ago, as I've seen similar wire-driven stages used inside "XY-writers" by companies like Gould ... had/have some of this stuff from outdated and salvaged XY-writers from a friend - some of them were as old as 30-50 years, but still in working condition

A bit late, but anyway... This very interesting alternative to conventional corexy, is discussed here: [reprap.org] . It is an idea that deserves more attention, as it looks that it suffers much less from resonances that are caused by very long belts. Because long belts are prone to vibrations.

Unfortunately this forum isn't as active as it used to be. Projects are scattered over multiple social media platforms. Not so easy to track and gather info about a project. But this is a topic for another thread.
