So, I recently decided to switch to Marlin firmware as I was getting "bumps" at the edges of the STL facets when using Sprinter. Firmware compiles just fine, and everything seems to work - except for the heated bed. I'm using RepG 0025 (the ultimaker version that works with Marlin), and it can read the heated bed thermistor, but it doesn't turn on at all. I've tried checking my pinouts, etc, and can't seem to find the problem. If I put Sprinter back on, the heated bed works just fine. Heater bed pin is 8, bed temp pin is 14. These work fine in sprinter, but apparently there is something different in the Marlin firmware. Only thing I haven't tried is enabling Bed Limit Switching.
Any thoughts? I'm at a loss with this one.
Thanks!
[EDIT]
So, it appears to be a problem with Replicatorg, not Marlin. At least that's what it looks like. If I go into Pronterface, I can get the heated bed to turn on, and if I go into Replicatorg 0029 (the non-ultimaker version), and tell it I'm using sprinter firmware, it will connect and everything turns on. Still waiting for it to heat up to do a test print. Any reason why that version of Replicatorg won't recognize my heated bed? Also, has anyone had problems running marlin on a non-ultimaker version of RepG?
[EDIT 2]
Apparently, Marlin FW runs just fine with Replicatorg 0029. Throws some weird red text errors in the message box, but this doesn't seem to affect printing. I'm not sure if the buffer/look ahead works properly, haven't had time to run a bunch of stuff, but the calibration cube came out much better than with Sprinter. (I think) it's fixed now.
