firmware not permanently saved in gen6?

Hi,

I'm using a generation 6 electronics. Everytime I upload the firmware (Marlin), it works fine until I disconnect the USB from my computer or I turn off the electronics. In both cases, when I try to connect again (with pronterface) the electronics is not responding. I try to reset, unplug and plug, restart.. everything. But the only think I can do to get response is to upload the firmware again. I think it may be because the firmware is not permanently saved?? do you know how to solve that?

I don't know if it is related but I need to add the option -F to avrdude because the signature is 0x000000 not corresponding with the expected 1E960A for atmega644p.

Sounds like your bootloader is garbled. Garbled flash is a typical result of having no brown-out-detector in place. You may want to look up your CPU's data sheet under "extended fuses" or this page: [reprap.org]
