Short stop during printing

Hey,
I'm using a reprap Prusa Mendel with RAMPS electronics; my Firmware is Sprinter and my controller-program is ReplicatorG. But it looks like after every layer my printer is thinking for a moment (which creates a bulb of plastic) and after that is doing a new layer. On youtube video's of other printers I don't see this. Is this a common problem, and how could I solve it? (Is it a problem of replicatorG or Sprinter?)
This is an object printed on my RepRap; at the top you see a sort of line that is where the printer stops.
