5d firmware: No answer from board besides "start"

Hello everyone !

I am currently trying to get the 5d firmware to work on a gen7 board.
5d firmware was uploaded successfully , but i only get the "start" message at the start, then no confirmation at all , whatever command i may try .(attempted both using my homebrew host and skeeinforge's RepRapArduinoSerialSender)

Am i missing something ? are "OK" command confirmations only beeing sent back in certain cases ?
Or are the line numbers and checksum a must ?

AFAIK, FiveD insists on line numbers and checksums. Teacup honors, but doesn't insist on them.

That is good to know for future reference!
In the meantime i switched to Teacup, seems a lot easier to use , and more practical for debug purposes!
