Is there no more support for fan control in Marlin 1.0 or am I missing a setting? I add M106 in my start Gcode to turn my fan on my hotend when printing. Now I can't get my fan using the electronics since upgrading to 1.0
I'm thinking the mosfet typically designated for a fan is now purposed for a 2nd extruder in 1.0.

Is there a simple way to re-implement fan control in the firmware?

I was having the same problem
You can fix this by opening the pin.h file and changing the Fan pin to 9
Make sure you scroll down in the file to find the fan pin under the motherboard you are using.
