x end motor nut comes out of hexagonal channel
October 09, 2011 07:56PM
Hello,

I am trying to get my first build here. I am on the z/x axis part. (step 8). The bottom nut on the x end motor and the other x piece that has the pulley. When this happens it doesn't move up and down correctly. Did I do something wrong? I have the spring in between the two nuts in the hex channel. Should I glue it in?

Thanks in advance for the help.

It sounds like you have both nuts on the same side. You need one nut on the rod then the spring, then put the rod through the X-end from the top in the long hex hole. Then with the rod pushed down (spring compressed) put the other nut on the bottom in the short hex.

Okay, I am going to try it again. I have the nuts in the right place. I didn't compress the spring.
Thanks for the quick reply. I will let you know how it works.
