Problem with PLA adhesion to HBP

Problem with PLA adhesion to HBP

I have a Mendel with Gen6 electronics and RepSnapper control.
It has been working like a champion for a couple of months, but i have just got some ultimachine colored PLA (3mm) and it doesn't work as well.

Originally i had a roll of black PLA, and printed onto masking tape on the heated bed. It worked great.
The new PLA in silver, and orange (so far) both extrude nicely, but don't stick to the masking tape as well as the black did.

Is it normal for different colours to work differently, or should they be exactly the same?

I have changed the masking tape to kapton, and its a bit better, but still not as good as the previous black PLA was.

I have tried different extrusion temperatures with no improvement. I will try running the bed hotter and see if that helps.

Any suggestions gratefully accepted.

If you have a heated bed, then the best surface to print PLA is probably glass. Watch this video from Adrian.

Yes some pigments affect how much the plastic sticks.

I will get an adjustable power supply to try different temperatures on the platform, and some glass to try.
Thanks
