stringiness?

Now that Nophead helped solved my big problem, on to the little problems.

What causes "stringiness"?

I printed a little model rocket for my son, and generally, it looks great:



But on one side, you can clearly see that it's not as smooth, and little fine strings of plastic is all over on one side of the object:



Any idea what casues this? My priner is running a wade's extruder, RAMPS 1.4, Sprinter and Pronterface.

It looks like you don't retract the filament far enough or fast enough at the end of the filament run.

Thanks Nophead, let me see how I can adjust that.

It depends on which slicer you are using. The retract is generated by the slicer and added to the g-code.
