I am seeing both nozzle and barrel as a 1 and 2 piece unit on offer for Mendel. I have a makerbot and am used to the 2 piece arrangement. Is there any advantage to the 1 piece arrangement?

The one-piece arrangement is less expensive. It also has less thermal mass so it probably heats faster. It has a smaller exposed face so it probably takes less heat to maintain temperature.

It also cools quicker because it has less thermal mass, could be a disadvantage depending on how you look at it.

Both valid points I guess. I will stick with what I know, the two piece makerbot style arrangement.
