Starts to print before heated up
April 09, 2012 12:35PM
Hello again, I am using Sanguinololu electronics with Sprinter and replicatorG. I have a MakerGear hot end and the temp set at 220C. When I hit print, it takes about 2-3 minutes and starts to heat the hot end. It starts to print when it gets to about 160C. It gets about halfway through the raft until the end is hot enough and then the filament won't feed because the hobbed bold cut into the abs.

I lowered the current on the extruder motor so that it cannot move the filament when the hot end is not hot enough. What do I do about it starting too early?

Looks like M109 isn't implemented/working in your firmware.

When generating the Gcode is there a first layer temperature and a print temperature? With my Prusa on Sprinter/Slic3r/Pronterface I can set 2 different temperatures. Not sure if that helps with your software configuration or not but worth mentioning.

I switched to Pronterface. Works so much better.
